Holiday Wine Tasting Open House | Dec 2 & 3 | 12-5pm
December is nearly upon us and since we know “it’s that time of year when the world falls in love” then it also means Indian Peak Vineyards Winery in Manton, which is just a short scenic drive from Chico, Red Bluff or Redding, California; is getting ready for our Annual Holiday Open House on December 2nd and 3rd from 12-5. This year is going to be the best one yet!
We like to think of our Holiday Open House as a great way to do a little early Christmas shopping from some wonderful artisan vendors, beat the crowds and perhaps the best thing of all is being able to do it all of this while sipping a glass of wine! I don’t know about you but drinking wine while I’m shopping is TOO good to pass up!
We will be serving treats of our own as well…Donna is making a double batch of her legendary Chicken Chardonnay Soup. For all of you who are in the know about this delectable soup, well clearly I don’t need to say anything but for those of you that haven’t eaten this yet, get ready to have one of the most flavorful and unforgettable food experiences ever! This soup’s main ingredients are butter, heavy cream and Fred’s Chardonnay…it also is loaded with chicken, carrots, onions, potatoes and mushrooms. The first time I tried this I nearly wept from the pleasure. Really.
We also will have holiday sweet treats for you to nibble on after your rapturous Chicken Chardonnay Soup experience. This year we are offering fantastic wine specials for those of you who want to give the gift of wine (which is really the best gift of all) to someone you love or just for yourself. Since we are serving our lovely soup we decided to offer our barrel fermented Chardonnay for our wine sale. This is a wonderful buttery chard with a hint of toasted oak. My favorite white wine for sure!
We also will have our luscious Donna’s Dessert Wine and others from our Wine List on special. This is really one of the best gifts for the season. Port wine is a wonderful treat anytime but especially during the holidays…seems so Dickens, doesn’t it? As great as this dessert wine is to sip, it’s also great for a sweet reduction sauce you can make easily that will go perfect with ice cream, cheesecake or a dense chocolate cake. Mmm…almost like a magic elixir.

Fred and Donna Boots have been having this event at Indian Peak Vineyards in Manton for a number of years…they are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make everyone feel at home, relaxed and part of the family.
